WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Ensure the visibility and access of the patient representative program.
  • Communicate the function of patient representative to hospital staff.
  • Coordinate or conduct a patient visit to 70% of new admits to communicate the patient representative’s role and availability.
  • Serve as a liaison for administration.
  • Acknowledge reported concerns within 24 hours and provide necessary follow up.
  • Discuss appropriate response to complaints with unit manager.
  • Coordinate Press Ganey Reports, including responses and providing managers with opportunity to review results.
  • Coordinate Mission Services Program.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Communicate effectively with all patients and members of the health care team.
  • Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of the patient.
  • Use proper channels of communication, keeping nurse informed of significant information.
  • Use time productively and works independently.
  • Ability to display empathy while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Minimum of two years experience in a public contact position, preferably as a Patient Representative
