WHAT WE NEED

Hands-on EMG/EEG technologist

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Any diagnostic test is only as good as the operator of the test itself. The EMG/EEG Diagnostic Technician must be able to accurately run the EMG/EEG equipment and precisely attach it to the patient. This is more than just a technical job, however. The best tech is also able to put patients of all ages at ease and make the test a positive, comfortable experience.

Do you have experience with electroneuro diagnostics? Are you good at working with patients? Can you accurately follow procedures and physician instructions? If so, we’d love to talk to you. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Work closely with the physicians to perform all aspects of Neurodiagnostic testing.
  • Schedule procedures and review patient profile and orders for testing in EMR.
  • Prioritize workflow and prepare the necessary equipment for testing.
  • Instruct patients on proper positioning during tests.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and family members to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Scan recordings of the test into patients’ EMR.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior EMG experience.
  • Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
  • Manage conflict and tactfully handle complaints and difficult situations.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Make decisions and use judgement in ambiguous situations.
  • Develop own ways of working effectively and efficiently.
  • Understanding of types of health information and the rules and regulations surrounding their use.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of principles of quality patient care and patient handling techniques.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.
  • Understanding of scheduling procedures.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

License(s):

Certification(s): Basic Life Support Program; Electroencephalography Tech

Travel: Never or Rarely
