WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Robotics Coordinators are an important link in our surgery department. They manage the robotic surgery schedule, conduct system training, participate in performance improvement activities, and so much more. It’s a busy job and one that requires a detail-oriented, accurate, efficient professional.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Promote growth of daVinci robotics program.
  • Maintain clinical competence in robotic cases and drives new processes and procedures with daVinci surgical system.
  • Serve as the model in the roles of educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, mentor and leader to promote the professional growth of peers in the daVinci realm.
  • Utilize and promote technology for training purposes.
  • Serve as a resource for and contributes to the professional development of physicians and staff in regards to daVinci application and growth.
  • Develop, direct and participate in performance improvement activities with leadership within the scope of the robotics program.
  • Act as interdepartmental liaison between physicians, management, staff, ancillary departments and professional contacts across all campuses.
  • Assess, develop, present, evaluate, and coordinate continuing education of robotic learning, based on the target audience and learner needs in regards to the adult learning principles.
  • Establish and collect robotic program data related to the educational needs of the nurse, CST, physician, and leadership.
  • Assess, intervene, reevaluate, and document the progress of the staff throughout the orientation process of the robotics system.
  • Assess surgery schedule far enough in advance to find and fill available robotic surgical procedure times with cases.
  • Revise and update surgical schedule with current changes and additions related to the daVinci surgical system.
  • Complete forms as necessary and relays to appropriate area.
  • Assist with statistical documentation by gathering data in unit as needed with daVinci cases.
  • Gather and prepare appropriate records for specific daVinci surgical procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining availability and proper working order of robotic equipment and supplies.
  • Cost conscious practice including documentation of services and supplies in regards to robotic needs.
  • Manage routine preventative maintenance on the daVinci surgical system.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Knowledge of surgical terminology, equipment, materials, and policies/procedures (sterile protocol/ OR attire), and the fundamental methods relating to surgery.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of data collection, research protocols, etc.
  • Knowledge of robotic surgical procedures in all applicable specialties: Urology, Gynecology, Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, Colorectal, and General Surgery.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative skills.
