Accountable Care Leader


As an Accountable Care Organization, our health care providers work together to deliver high quality care at the lowest possible cost. Experienced oversight and coordination of patient care is a critical part of making sure we continue to deliver care of uncompromising quality. Our Vice President of Population Health is an important part of this process by developing Population Health programs, leading and supporting all operational activities of the ACO, and so much more.

  • Oversee and coordinate the negotiation and development of all ACO shared savings programs or risk
  • products for both the commercial and government programs of Franciscan Alliance.
  • Advocate for the best quality of patient care; ensure Franciscan Alliance quality metrics are achieved through sound clinical processes following accreditation and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Consult and direct the Franciscan Alliance leadership team on current and future opportunities of additional ACO contracts as well as provide expert advice and guidance to the Boards, Finance Committee, and Professional Services Committees of all ACO and PHO organizations.

  • Direct the preparation of the annual budget for the respective division.
  • Facilitate and reinforce, through business processes and performance measures, a mindset for excellence in order to reduce unnecessary variations and to improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs.
  • In collaboration with medical leadership, initiate and direct the transition of care teams from inpatient, ambulatory, and post-acute care settings to develop care management programs to enhance the quality and financial success of the ACO programs.
  • Initiate and sponsor the development and implementation of quality improvement projects that enhance application and systems cost efficiency, employee productivity and customer service.
  • Meet with the members of the community, physician leaders, healthcare organizations or federal/state/region officials on matters of mutual concern and to address community needs.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of customer service, evaluating customer satisfaction to ensure the organization is meeting quality service standards.
  • Oversee the Senior Promise and Senior Insurance Service programs, thereby allowing greater access to senior populations for participation in Medicare ACO programs.
  • Provide overall direction for the operations of the CI PHO and NI PHO, including all risk-based contracting with Medicaid and commercial payer contracts.  Serve as a champion for employee engagement and developing a high performing organization. 
  • Prior Managed Care experience.
  • Budget management.
  • Develop financial plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of financial and business management principles.
  • Understanding of HFAP and related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Program development including strategic planning.
  • Supervisory and team leadership skills, including coaching, engaging, and developing employees.
  • Strategic thinking.
