WHAT WE NEED

DME Respiratory Therapist

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education, monitoring, evaluation and treatment are all important aspects of our Respiratory Therapy program. The Registered Respiratory Therapist DME is responsible for delivering and educating patients on various types of respiratory equipment. This person evaluates each patient for the appropriate type and size of equipment prescribed by the physician and performs patient education on proper usage. It’s a hands-on, patient-care position in an environment that values compassionate, joyful service.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Schedule assigned customer orders and perform daily deliveries, including delivery, pickup, exchange, repairing medical equipment and/or reinstructing customer on the safe use of equipment.
  • Set up, instructs, and educates patients and caregivers in the safe and effective use of the provided 
  • Instruct customer and caregivers how to communicate concerns or complaints about services and how to reach the office during and after hours of operation.
  • Oversee proper documentation of delivered equipment and ensures adherence to Franciscan Alliance DME’s documentation requirements.
  • Serve in on-call rotation and is responsible for promptly and professionally returning customer calls, troubleshooting equipment, and answering customer inquiries that occur outside the hour of operation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized vehicle with stocked inventory in accordance with Franciscan DME procedure.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspection prior to operating vehicle to determine complete compliance with all transportation regulatory agencies.
     
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior respiratory care and/or respiratory durable medical equipment experience.
  • Provide education to patients and their families.
  • Customer service skills. 
  • Prioritize and organize.
  • Basic computer software skills (including Microsoft Office), hardware, and communication devices to perform tasks.
  • Adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Familiar with inventory control and use with various software applications.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients and other external parties.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Technical Troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of Respiratory Care.
  • Comprehend and analyze information.

Certification(s): Registered Respiratory Therapist

Travel: Up to 75%
