WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our lipid techs do a variety of things like properly maintain the equipment, administer the test and provide accurate results. The job of thelipid tech is an important one to patients and doctors. Beyond the technology, this role also requires someone who can provide compassionate, pleasant care to patients and communicate well with doctors.

WHAT WE NEED

A Lipid Clinic Technician with a Medical Assisting background is required. In this role, you will review cholesterol lab results. Notify patients of normal and abnormal labs, carry out doctor's orders for medication changes. Assist with patient education, processing of lab orders and diagnostic testing and medication refills. You will also assist with prior-authorizations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Answer patient questions via telephone to provide information or education.
  • Complete chart reviews, refill encounters, lipid management encounters, or lab orders via the electronic medical records system.
  • Assist the patients and providers by completing refills, prior-authorizations, medication list review, and providing financial assistance program resources.
  • Educate patients, via phone or in-person, on lipid medication with the providers guidance.

 

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior Cardiology experience.
  • Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.
  • Laboratory diagnostic tests.
  • Critically evaluate and analyze information in written materials.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.
  • Convey complex subject matter, simply.
  • Interpret test results and formulate reports. 
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
