WHAT WE NEED

Dependable equipment operators

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Safe, reliable equipment and systems are something patients assume will be available when they visit a Franciscan Health location. We don’t take that assumption lightly. We depend heavily on our Plant Operators to repair, maintain and install our equipment and systems. It’s the kind of job that can change from one day to the next but one thing remains the same: the importance of having functional, safe equipment.

Are you a good problem solver? Can you follow procedures for monitoring and maintaining a wide range of equipment? Do you enjoy keeping things working well? We need your skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Contribute to facility systems and physical plant equipment management including PM development, budgeting, system assessments, and life-cycle planning.
  • Contribute to maintaining emergency response procedures for failed plant HVAC equipment.
  • Coordinate contract services providing supplemental plant equipment maintenance, repairs and installations.
  • Design, construct, install and remove various facility physical plant and facility equipment, systems, and components.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in physical plant and facility equipment, systems, or components and take appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of replacement physical plant equipment, consumables, and systems.
  • Monitor the operations of a unit and provide input to the performance of individuals through feedback and recommendations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on all physical plant and facility equipment, systems, and components in accordance with prescribed procedures.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior maintenance and operations, construction or physical plant experience.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Equipment maintenance and repair per industry and manufacturer standards.
  • Knowledge of financial and business management principles.
  • Understanding of OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
  • Read and interpret construction documents.
  • Supervisory and team leadership skills, including coaching, engaging and developing employees.
  • Time management.
