WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Assist the evaluating, reporting and documenting of patient’s activities of daily living to ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Complete peritoneal dialysis treatment for assigned patients and communicates patient information to the patient’s assigned RN or charge RN.
  • Follow hospital policies, procedures, and standards such as properly identifying patient and reviewing nurse instructions before rendering care; hand washing between patient contact; and isolation procedure to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Provide patient support by answering questions and addressing concerns such as orienting patient’s families to surroundings and demonstrating how to call for assistance.
  • Obtain, report, and record patient vital signs pre and post procedure to monitor patient response to treatment and identify any potential risks or complications.
  • Transport patients to and from dialysis.
  • Clean dialysis equipment after use with each patient.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior nursing assitant experience.
  • Adapt to high volume and high stress areas.
  • Biohazard waste procedures knowledge.
  • Understanding of all aspects of Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency care. A
  • Adapt to multiple clinical settings.
  • Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
  • Basic computer software, hardware, and communication devices to perform tasks.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness.
  • Show sincere interest in others and their concerns.
  • Reading comprehension. 
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

1-3 Years Experience

License(s): Certified Nursing Assistant; Indiana Credential

Certification(s): Basic Life Support Program

Travel: Never or Rarely
