Medical data analyst

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

When management needs details on clinical guidelines and patient services, they turn to a Data Analyst. Our medical data analysts dig into patient data and create statistical reports. These reports guide health care managers as they make adjustments based on disease and treatment trends, quality of care, expenses and income.

 

Do you love analyzing and reporting on data? Do you have experience with electronic medical record systems? Are you accurate and efficient in your work? We need your skills. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide departmental support by assuring all CMS Clinical Measure Data (Value Based Purchasing) is properly exported and accepted by CMS and the Illinois Hospital Association to avoid any financial penalty; maintain database to prove compliance.  
  • Coordinate prompt data corrective actions with any notices of issues with data submission to a regulatory agency.
  • Maintain comprehensive schedule of data reporting and changes with the multiple regulatory agencies that require such data.
  • Summarize the statistical monitoring information as directed to identify patterns or trends, variations in care, opportunities for improvement; information to be presented to appropriate committees and department meetings to assure quality standards are being met and to assure maximum reimbursement.
  • Utilize relevant data in the process, design, monitoring and outcome measurement of organizational performance for presentation at hospital leadership and medical staff meetings.
  • Develop reports for presentations to assure full understanding throughout the hospital of key data and information being submitted to agencies and the public.
  • Act as a resource to the Chief Medical Staff officer in providing ongoing physician-specific quality data for the physician report card and other quality reports required for all physicians at reappointment. 
  • Utilize the Quality and Risk Department (Maxsys) Peer Review software to design quality trending reports that specify areas of corrective action and process improvement.   
  • Perform complex data analysis support of ad hoc and standing quality and performance improvement reports with the use of Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide data collection and analysis for all functions of Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Infection Prevention.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Knowledge in the field of computer systems technology
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Knowledge of health care delivery systems, performance improvement, healthcare quality and patient safety.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills.
