WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A successful medical facility certainly includes a top-notch medical staff but it starts with a core group of professionals that assist in providing subject matter expertise and technical support for Health Information Management (HIM) specific workflows and services across a multi-facility integrated healthcare system. Our Medical Director of Information Technology manages these day-to-day operations all while providing guidance and oversight of electronic health record systems, processes and meaningful use, process improvements to coding and clinical documentation, and maintaining departmental regulatory compliance. It’s a job with a lot of hats and one that requires a strong personality to wear them.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Analyze the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems.
  • Develop departmental goals and objectives, and establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality of ambulatory electronic health records across facilities.
  • Oversee, monitor, and improve information system training processes to ensure programs, content, and materials support organizational goals.
  • Engage physicians in the support of the electronic health record and clinical documentation improvement programs.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, federal, state, local statutes, accreditation requirements, and Franciscan standards, policies, and practices.
  • Develop and manage one or multiple departmental budgets, including making budget allocations, approving expenditures and ensuring expenses are within budget.
  • Create and sustain a culture in the practice that reflects the Franciscan Mission and Values.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior Electronic Health Record Management experience.
  • Conceptualize and plan.
  • Manage conflict and tactfully handle complaints and difficult situations.
  • Convince others in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings.
  • Critically evaluate and analyze information in written materials.
  • Understanding of Managed Care requirements under the Medicare/Medicaid and other third party payor programs.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Program development including strategic planning.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex quantitative information.
  • Supervisory and team leadership skills, including coaching, engaging and developing coworkers.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

License(s): Physician License
