WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Document patient care information and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families.
  • Provide a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles e.g. active listening, reflection, discussion, prayer.S
  • Respond promptly to calls providing spiritual and emotional support to patients/families.
  • Serve in an on-call rotation and provide patient support outside business hours.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Prior Hospice, Ministerial, and/or Healthcare experience.
  • Active listening.
  • Adapt to multiple clinical settings.
  • Lead and coach others.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software, hardware, and communication devices to perform tasks.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Crises Intervention theory.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.
  • Familiar with the dying process and sensitive to loss and grief, death.
  • Understanding of Hospice regulations.
  • Maintain composure, even in very difficult situations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of common medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
