WHAT WE NEED

Cyber Security Tech

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Maintain and administer tools used to defend against cyberattack and data loss.  Assist with coordination of day-to-day cybersecurity engineering and defense.  Analyze cyber events to identify threats and lead defensive actions. The Cyber Security Tech plays an important role in completing cybersecurity engineering activities, tracking tasks, and so much more. Think you’ve got what it takes?

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Assist in implementation of new information security systems and controls, delivering effective and pragmatic risk-prioritized solutions to pressing cybersecurity problems.
  • Support development, design, implementation, integration, and on-going maintenance of systems, applications, processes, security solutions and technologies, based on business and technical requirements.
  • Protect Franciscan’s information, information systems, networks and all related people by analyzing public and private information sources to develop effective defensive techniques.  
  • Participate in the design and implementation of security response automation, integrating various information and cyber defense tools using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python to create fast, intelligent responses to common and/or critical cyber incidents.
  • Actively participate in developing the goals, strategy and methodologies of the Franciscan’s cyber program in alignment with the overall Information Security program strategy.
  • Maintain and administer tools used to defend Franciscan against cyberattack and data loss.
  • Assist incident response and investigation on multiple systems.
  • Consult with appropriate departments regarding security controls and baseline security for operating systems, database, cloud solutions and applications for large solutions.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of security procedures and standards for solutions.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI DSS, State PII laws governing Franciscan, and industry standard frameworks such as NIST, ISO 2700x, CIS Top 20 Controls, HICP.
  • In-depth understanding of information security controls and technological means of implementing / enforcing controls.
  • Understand how to create an audit plan for an asset, application, or process as well as executing an audit plan, with contextual awareness of the current security threat landscape and controls.
  • Understand the differences between policies, standards and procedures and possesses good command of drafting content for each.
  • Maintain knowledge through reading security industry news, research, and by periodically attending information security conferences, professional association meetings or webinars.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

Required:    Associates Degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, MIS, Information Security) or a minimum 2 years’ information security experience.
 

Preferred:   Bachelor of Science Degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, MIS, Information Security).

Preferred:   Security+, CISSP Associate, or other industry-recognized certification 

 

Travel: Up to 20%
