It’s no secret that healthcare in today’s world requires lots of digital documentation. Franciscan Health uses the EPIC clinical point-of-care documentation system and we need someone to support corporate and facility teams serving as the link between IT and clinicians to ensure a standardized approach in developing clinical applications and workflows that are evidence based, efficient and patient focused. This role is part trouble-shooter, part listener and all about team support.

  • Manage the design, implementation, optimization and change management of EHR and other health information technology, and leads optimization efforts identifying opportunities for innovation in the future.
  • Drive system standardization of EHR and other health information technology workflows.
  • Conduct complex clinical operational/technical workflow and cost analysis to align Information systems with strategic business initiatives as well as formulate requirements for operational improvements.
  • Oversee the data validation and acquisition process for clinical team members and other sources to ensure information is complete and accurate prior to data analysis.
  • Serve as a consultative partner to the clinical leaders on transformation of clinical patient care through standardization and optimization of clinical processes and tools.
  • Partner with Regulatory, Quality and Interoperability Teams to develop strategies developing standardized quality improvement recommendations.
  • Partner with IT to bring innovative ideas and clinical findings to the forefront of patient care.
  • Ensure optimal benefits of system IT investments through adoption and optimization of information and technology to drive performance improvement, transformation and innovation of care delivery process across the care continuum.
  • Act as a change leader by partnering and organizing people and processes and facilitating change across the enterprise to design clinical systems in conjunction with business priorities.
  • Model and lead teams through change by communicating a compelling case for change.
  • Partner with site Clinical Informaticists, coordinating the activities of clinical informatics team to assure a uniform approach to support, design, implementation and governance.
  • Partner with Clinical, Training and Clinical Informatics leadership to identify opportunities around increased adoption and satisfaction using the EMR.
  • Partner with IT, Clinical Informatics, Operations and Education to assure all projects are clinically led and IT supported.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' Clinical experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience with implementation and design of clinical application systems.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience system support of EMR. 
  • MSN preferred (required within 3 years)
  • ANCC Certification 
  • Strong interest in digital platforms and innovation.
  • Clear understanding of the workflow within a variety of clinical care environments.
  • Complex project leadership and governance processes.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, ability to deconstruct problems and define and implement solutions.
  • Ability to develop and implement standard processes and workflows.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior executives, vendors, patients, visitors, and the general public.
  • Highly developed communication, facilitation and influencing skills, including ability to present effectively to senior executive audiences.
  • Lead and coach others effectively.

License(s): Registered Nurse

Certification(s): Certified in at least one EPIC moduel (required)
