Clinical Informatics Leader

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

It’s no secret that healthcare in today’s world requires lots of digital documentation. Franciscan Health uses the EPIC clinical point-of-care documentation system and we need a leader to lead facility informatics teams to ensure proficiency with technology within all clinical workflows. This role is part leader, part trouble-shooter, part listener and all about team support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Develop tactical strategy and execution plan to support organizational Clinical Informatics imperatives and priorities. 
  • Develop, coordinate, and support workflow mapping, project advancements, resources and implementations for approved Clinical Informatics initiatives at assigned facilities.
  • Serve as a champion and change agent for complex clinical projects and systems to enable user adoption of tools and workflows to improve the patient and clinician experiences.
  • Coordinate the activities of the nursing clinical informatics team and assures a uniform minimum level of skills and capabilities in this group.
  • Assure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained by recruiting and developing nursing clinical informatics individuals as needed.
  • Act as liaison between Clinical Informatics and Information Services at the director level
  • Collaborates with clinical IT Teams in the development of new EHR components to ensure most efficient clinical workflow.
  • Participate in local and system director-level leadership meetings and represent Clinical Informatics in clinical and quality projects as well as Franciscan Transformation Team (FTT) initiatives.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Licensed in Indiana and Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
  • Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) in Nursing Informatics preferred.  
  • Experience in a multi-faceted patient care environment.
  • Implementation and management of clinical informatics/information systems experience.
  • Knowledge of Epic EHR applications.
  • Experience with complex Project Leadership and Governance and Health Information Management processes.
  • Clinical workflow Design and Analysis experience.
  • Electronic Health Record Design and Analysis knowledge.
