An RN focused on patient admissions

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Admissions nurses cross boundaries to quickly assess and admit patients based on care needs. This job requires a high degree of organization and the ability to see the big picture to reduce and eliminate barriers which may impede patient admissions. It’s hands-on nursing providing high quality patient care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Assess patient status and facilitate the efficient movement of patients through the hospital system.  Priority is placed on direct care admits, ER admissions, post-op admissions and discharges.
  • Work in an efficient, quality driven manner to provide the highest level of care to newly admitted patient.
  • Communicate information obtained to the primary care giver to allow a smooth transition.
  • Obtain accurate nursing history and documents on appropriate patient records. Assess, document and reports physiological and behavioral changes of the patient and then formulates and effective, individualized nursing plan of care.
  • Educate the patient, family and staff regarding health maintenance, the disease process, medications, etc.
  • Assist in developing meaning goals for patients and family members.
  • Demonstrate competence in basic nursing skills and practices proficiency in technical and special skills relevant to area of clinical practice.

  • Perform work with regard to quality standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Work independently and make responsible decisions.
  • Assess, interpret and appropriately react to key data about a patient’s status, including adverse patient signs and symptoms.
  • Advance knowledge of nursing care principles, procedures and practices, including knowledge of community health principles.

3-5 Years Experience

License(s): Registered Nurse

Certification(s): Basic Life Support Program

Travel: Never or Rarely
