WHAT WE NEED

Orthopedic acute care techs

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Patients of all ages enter our orthopedic offices with a wide range of concerns and worries. They need someone who can examine them and explain treatment needs in an age appropriate way. They need someone who can provide basic care calmly and pleasantly. They need a top notch Orthopedic Technician by their side.

 

Do you have excellent communication skills? Are you good at following directions? Do you enjoy providing hands-on patient care in an orthopedic acute care environment? We have a position where you can make a difference each and every day. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Application and removal of casts, splints and braces
  • Work with and instruct patients in caring for their injuries
  • Understand and adjust traction equipment, and be able to adjust crutches, walkers and other aids and provide instructions to patients in their use
  • Sets up, prepares and maintains cast room including supplies and equipment
  • Cleans cast room properly after an office procedure is completed
  • Deliver patient care including age appropriate assessment, evaluation, and management.
  • Deliver patient care including culturally appropriate assessment, evaluation, and management.
  • Telephone triage of orthopedic patients with evaluation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and ensure confidentiality of patient records and EMR.
  • Complete various forms for agencies.
  • Order orthopedic supplies.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
 

Trade School / Certification Required

1-3 Years Experience

License(s):

Certification(s): Must successfully complete an Orthopedic Technician Program within the first year with demonstrated competency or at least 2 years experience as a cast tech. and able to pass the National Certification exam. Must have the certification through the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists.  CPR certification is required.
