Often these people make the difference in you wanting to become a repeat customer and recommending a store or restaurant – or hospital or doctor – to your friends and family. The good customer service coordinator handles requests and complaints efficiently and pleasantly. They thrive on ending each call knowing they did their best and helped someone. It’s not the job for everyone – because not everyone has what it takes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Responsible for being the contact Customer Service Representative regarding patient disputes and concerns for the Franciscan Alliance facilities.
  • Log and perform timely follow up through Feedback Monitor Pro system or similar tracking tool of issues and concerns from patients.
  • Communicate directly with sites regarding patient complaints and concerns pertaining to services, coding and charges. 
  • Work with the facility to execute prompt resolution and response of all patient complaints, disputes or account review requests.
  • Resolve disputes within specified time frame per policy.
  • Document and elevate any error trends or repetitive issues to the Service Excellence Representative for review.
  • Insurance denial and follow up experience with payor policy knowledge to be able to review disputed accounts to patient’s satisfaction.
  • Work assigned self-pay, account work queues with the ability to determine resolution of the self-pay account per policy.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
  • Experience in Patient Accounting, Billing, Collections, Customer Service, or Cash Application.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with computers, Patient Account/EDI/Payer sites.
  • Knowledge of Medical and Managed Care Contract terminology.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle procedures.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

Minimum of 2-3 years in Patient Accounting, specifically billing, collections, customer service, or cash application.

Possible Certification: Personal Financial Specialist

Travel: Never or Rarely
